Meet Ajay
Hello everyone! I’m Ajay Patel, the founder of ThemeSelection. I’ve been in the IT industry for over 14 years, and it’s been quite a journey! I kicked things off as a web developer, diving into platforms like WordPress and Joomla to build websites.
After sharpening my skills, I spent more than five years working as a software developer, which really solidified my foundation in the field. That experience has been invaluable and has eventually led me to where I am today, creating tools to help developers and businesses succeed.
What inspired you to create Clevision?
Clevision came to life in 2018 when my co-founder, Vrushank, and I spotted a gap in the market. While working at a software company, we noticed something frustrating: almost every app or platform needed an admin panel, but there weren’t many solid options out there to make the process easier.
Building the UI for these panels from scratch was repetitive and ate up a ton of time on every project.
That’s when it hit us
Why not create a ready-to-use admin panel ourselves? That idea sparked Clevision, and we’ve been working to simplify development ever since.
What are the main products that Clevision offers?
Right now, we’re focused on two big projects: ThemeSelection and Pixinvent.
Pixinvent is our presence on Envato, where we’ve rolled out some top-notch admin templates like Vuexy, Frest, and Materialize. These have been a hit with developers looking for reliable solutions.
Then there’s ThemeSelection, our own platform where we offer premium admin dashboard templates and UI kits built on popular frameworks like Bootstrap templates, Next.js templates, ASP.NET templates, Django templates, Laravel templates, Vue Templates and more.
Under ThemeSelection, we also launched JetShip!
A Next.js and Laravel SaaS boilerplate to help developers kickstart their projects.
Plus, we’ve got FlyonUI, an open-source Tailwind CSS component library that’s a separate passion project of ours. It’s all about giving developers the tools they need to create awesome applications quickly.
Who is your primary target audience—startups, enterprises, or a mix of both?
Our primary audience is a mix of developers, startups, programmers, designers, freelancers, and web development agencies. We’re mainly a B2B business, catering to those who need efficient, high-quality solutions to build their products.
That said, we also serve a B2C side by empowering individual designers and developers who want to get started fast and deliver impressive results.
Our customers—whether they’re agencies, solo devs, or small teams—rely on us to save time and effort. In today’s fast-paced world, spending months on an MVP just isn’t practical.
With our templates, they can be up and running in a day or two, cutting down at least six months of brainstorming, designing, and coding an admin dashboard from scratch. It’s a game-changer for their timelines and budgets.
How would you describe ThemeSelection admin templates & themes?
I’d say our admin templates and themes are premium, highly customizable, and built with developers in mind. They’re designed to help people create powerful web applications quickly without sacrificing quality. We put a lot of effort into crafting modern, clean designs with responsive layouts that work beautifully on any device.
Our goal is to deliver tools that don’t just look good but also provide a smooth, professional experience—whether you’re building dashboards, CRMs, project management systems, or any admin interface. They’re practical, polished, and ready to adapt to whatever you’re working on.
How beginner-friendly are your templates for those with limited coding experience?
We’ve made it a priority at ThemeSelection to ensure our templates are approachable for everyone, even those newer to coding. Our designs come with intuitive interfaces and detailed documentation to guide users every step of the way. Take our Sneat Bootstrap 5 HTML Admin Template, for example—it’s known for being easy to set up and customize, even if you’re just starting out.
We also offer options like the Materio Free MUI Template, which blends Next.js v14, Material UI, Tailwind CSS, and TypeScript. These features simplify the process and make it manageable for beginners while still being robust for pros. Add in our thorough support resources, and you’ve got everything you need to confidently build something great—whether you’re a novice or a seasoned developer.
What makes your products unique compared to other similar tools?
What sets us apart is our unwavering focus on four key pillars: design, development, documentation, and support. We don’t cut corners on any of these because our ultimate aim is customer satisfaction. Unlike many competitors, we go beyond just front-end templates by offering seamless backend integrations—like HTML with Laravel, Django, or .NET, and Vue with Laravel.
A lot of developers struggle to connect front-end designs with backend frameworks, and we’ve tackled that head-on by providing pre-integrated solutions.
It’s this combination of quality and practicality that makes our products stand out and keeps our customers coming back.
How do you see AI’s role evolving in the SaaS industry over the next few years?
The SaaS industry is moving at an incredible pace, and AI is set to play a huge role in shaping its future. With so many similar SaaS platforms popping up, AI can help companies stand out by streamlining processes, personalizing user experiences, and automating repetitive tasks.
What’s really exciting is how AI is opening doors for no-code users. People without deep technical skills can now create their own SaaS solutions using AI-powered tools.
Over the next few years, I think we’ll see AI making SaaS more accessible, efficient, and competitive, leveling the playing field for both developers and non-technical founders alike.
What advice would you give to new SaaS founders entering the business?
Starting a SaaS business can be daunting, but I’ve got a few pointers that might help.
First, consider a freemium model. It’s a great way to attract users and let them see the value of your product before committing.
Launch with an MVP, something simple that solves a real problem, and then listen closely to user feedback to guide your next steps.
Focus on delivering a solid solution rather than chasing perfection right out of the gate. You can always improve gradually as you grow.
And when it comes to pricing, I’d recommend leaning toward yearly or lifetime plans as they do not want monthly payments. They tend to appeal more to customers and give you a stronger revenue foundation to build on. Take it step by step, and you’ll find your footing!
