Interview with Loic Poullain of Linito

Loic Poullain Linito Interview

Meet Loic

My name is Loïc and I’m the Founder of Linito, a better interface for Google Analytics. I have previous experience in software engineering, having worked as a software engineer in France and the USA, in both the private and public sectors.

What inspired you to create Linito?

When I tried to set up Google Analytics for one of my websites after the release of GA4, it was a nightmare. The configuration as well as the interface were completely overwhelming and I had trouble getting it to work. That’s why I decided to create Linito, to make it easier to configure GA4 and view my traffic and conversion data at a glance.

What are the core features of Linito that distinguish it from the standard Google Analytics interface?

The usability. In the standard Google Analytics interface, there are things all over the place in complex jargon, and it’s pretty hard to get what you want. In Linito, you have a page to analyze all your traffic, where you can apply filters or make comparisons, and a page called “goals” to measure your attribution and conversion on a visitor’s particular action.

How do you ensure that Linito stays aligned with updates and changes made in Google Analytics?

Every week, I take a look at all the official Google Analytics release notes to see if anything has changed.

What challenges did you face integrating Google Analytics data into Linito, and how did you overcome them?

Well, first, I had to understand how Google Analytics works, what the different metrics are and how the engine works internally. Then I had to understand how the API worked. I’d say I overcame those challenges with a lot of hard work, I guess, haha.

Are there any plans to incorporate additional data sources or analytics platforms into Linito?

No, it’s really meant to be an extension for Google Analytics. But plugins for integrating Google Analytics with website platforms such as Webflow or Bubble will be available in the future.

How do you manage data security and privacy while handling user analytics data?

Security is taken seriously at Linito and I prefer not to release a new feature if I’m not sure it’s secure. As far as privacy is concerned, the Google Analytics data you share with Linito does not leave Linito and is not shared with third parties.

What impact do you think AI will have on the future of analytics tools like Linito?

AI is great and has done a lot of good in recent years. I use it myself every day. But I’m not sure AI will play an important role in analytics tools like Linito. The truth is, you want your analytical data to be accurate, and AI doesn’t provide that accuracy (yet).

What advice would you give to other entrepreneurs looking to build SaaS products in the analytics space?

Build something people want. Also, it all depends on the size of the business you want to build. The people you’re going to target may be different.

Did you enjoy our interview? Do you have anything to say to our community?

Yes. Yes, one thing to say: go try Linito!
