Meet Mbarek
Hi, I’m M’barek Dhibi, the CEO & Founder of PawnHoster. A young hosting company launched in mid-2024. I built the business from the ground up, from buying dedicated servers, to designing hosting packages and setting up the infrastructure. While I don’t come from a long legacy in hosting, I’m driven by hands-on learning. So far I’ve managed hosting, client support, billing, and even content for our YouTube channel personally.
What inspired you to create PawnHoster?
I saw a gap: many small businesses and freelancers need affordable, reliable hosting, but often plans are either too expensive or confusing. I wanted to build a hosting platform that’s simple, budget-friendly and scalable. The “Pawn, Knight, King” concept comes from treating hosting like a chessboard: every user, whether beginner or advanced, should have a hosting option that fits their goals without complexity or surprise costs.
What makes PawnHoster different from traditional hosting companies?
- Clarity & simplicity: Our plans are straightforward, with no hidden fees or surprise renewals.
- Budget-friendly pricing: Services start as low as $1.58/month (for Pawn hosting), making quality hosting accessible to individuals just starting out.
- Future-friendly reseller and multi-domain options: We don’t only host sites — we also offer reseller hosting and plan to support multi-domain integration and site builders. That’s more value than a typical “bare-bones” host.
- Hands-on, founder-led approach: As a small team, we stay close to every client and build features based on real needs from real users — not corporate fluff.
How does PawnHoster ensure fast loading speeds for websites?
We run our services on powerful dedicated servers using modern technologies (LiteSpeed, Caching Systems and CDN). We optimize server configuration, caching, and resource allocation so even entry-level plans deliver reliable performance. For customers needing more, our reseller and higher-tier plans allow more resources and scalability, letting websites including WordPress sites load quickly even under load.
What’s the most common mistake website owners make, and how does PawnHoster solve it?
A common mistake: underestimating how resource-intensive even a “small” website can become over time — with plugins, media, traffic growth. Many owners start cheap then quickly outgrow their host and face slow loading or downtime. PawnHoster solves this by offering clear upgrade paths (from Pawn → Knight → King), transparent resource allocations, and affordable reseller hosting so they can grow without fear of sudden price hikes or surprises.
What shifts are you seeing in the web hosting market today?
- Growing demand for DIY and small-business friendly hosting. More freelancers, bloggers, and SMBs want control without huge budgets.
- Increasing need for simple, optimized hosting tools as more people build websites and online projects.
- Desire for all-in-one solutions: domain, hosting, site builder, and analytics integrations. Clients want simplicity over juggling multiple vendors.
What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned building a hosting company?
Focus on value and trust, not just features. In hosting, reliability and transparency matter more than fancy ads. When you’re honest about what you offer and back it up with stable service and support, clients trust you, and that trust leads to steady growth.
What advice would you give SMBs launching their first site?
Start small but smart. Choose hosting that is reliable, scalable, and affordable. Don’t overpay for unnecessary features. Use hosting that gives you room to grow, if you begin with entry-level plans like PawnHoster’s, make sure upgrading is simple when traffic or complexity increases.
Where do you envision PawnHoster five years from now?
In five years, I imagine PawnHoster as a full-spectrum hosting and infrastructure provider: hosting websites, offering reseller accounts, integrated site builders, multi-domain support, analytics integrations, and smooth and simple tools that help users manage their online presence without complexity. I want us to be a go-to platform for freelancers, SMBs, and small agencies worldwide who want simplicity, reliability, and growth potential without breaking the bank.
Did you enjoy our interview? Do you have anything to say to our community?
Yes — thank you for the opportunity! To your community: if you’re starting a website or side-project, take hosting seriously — it’s the foundation of your online presence. And if you’re looking for an affordable, beginner-friendly place to start, we’d love for you to check us out.
