Carmen Tune Interview

Meet Carmen Tune

Hi, I’m Carmen Tune, The #1 SaaS Deals Expert. I help business owners and creators optimize their software expenses by securing exclusive, official partner offers with leading tech companies. My main focus is allowing founders to build a cost-effective infrastructure from day one.

Hi, please introduce yourself to our audience and tell us a bit about your industry experience?

I’m an entrepreneur, and my industry experience has always been rooted in the digital sector, helping businesses scale efficiently. Through my specialization in areas like Artificial Intelligence and automation, I started collaborating with prominent SaaS brands. This hands-on experience allowed me to build strong relationships from the inside, eventually leading me to become a direct partner with major platforms—such as my current status as an Official Manychat Partner.

What inspired you to start Carmen Tune?

Actually, my website had already been live for a while as a space for my consulting and digital services. But as I worked more closely with different startups and independent creators, I noticed a clear pattern: companies were spending way too much money on their tech stacks. They were paying full retail prices just to afford essential software, completely unaware of how much they could save if they used the right partner deals. That realization drove me to take action and make SaaS deals the core of the site. Today, I dedicate my time to negotiating strategic partnerships with top SaaS companies so I can pass those essential savings straight to founders through my website.

What made you focus specifically on software deals and discounts?

Beyond what I just shared, I focused on this specific niche because the existing landscape for software discounts was incredibly frustrating, and I knew I could step in with a real solution. When creators or small teams looked for ways to lower their expenses, they usually hit a wall. They would end up on unreliable directories and waste hours testing expired promo codes from random coupon sites. I wanted to eliminate that friction and provide a site where deals are secured through verified, official partnerships. This guarantees the offers actually work and gives founders transparent access to high-value discounts.

What’s the biggest misconception founders have about discounting?

The biggest misconception is assuming that discounts are only available for low-tier, unproven tools, and that if you want premium quality, you just have to pay the full retail price. In reality, the best platforms in the market—like HubSpot, Semrush, or Shopify—offer different pricing tiers and special rates designed specifically to help new ventures grow. Another misconception is thinking that a 10% or 20% coupon doesn’t matter much. When you compound those savings across ten different tools over an entire year, you are literally putting thousands of dollars back into your operating budget.

What red flags should buyers watch out for in software deals?

A major warning sign is an overly complicated redemption process. If you have to jump through endless hoops and hand over excessive business information just to unlock a deal, they are likely selling your data rather than actually helping you save. You should also be careful with the ‘Lifetime Deal’ trap for abandoned software. Sometimes, a purchase looks incredibly cheap simply because the developers have stopped updating the product entirely. And of course, always watch out for hidden renewal terms. Some promo codes offer a massive discount for the first month, but lock you into an overpriced annual contract right after. Transparency and direct access are key.

How should startups evaluate whether a SaaS tool is worth the cost?

Startups should evaluate software strictly based on time saved and resources optimized. I always ask founders to calculate the hourly rate of their team. If a tool costs $50 a month but automates a task that would take a human ten hours a week to do, that one is an absolute necessity. Additionally, it is crucial to determine if it is part of your core infrastructure. Tools that handle your revenue—such as sales funnels, advertising platforms like TikTok Ads, or automation software for customer communication like Manychat—are worth the investment because they directly impact growth. Nice-to-have widgets and trendy add-ons can wait until you scale.

What advice would you give someone building a SaaS product?

I highly recommend supporting early-stage founders and bootstrappers. Build a founder-friendly plan or a startup tier into your pricing model from the very beginning. The small teams that are scraping by today will become the enterprise clients of tomorrow. If you give them a fair deal and help them build their business using your software when they are just starting out, they will remain incredibly loyal to your product as they scale. Also, collaborate closely with strategic partners who can connect your tool with the exact audience you are trying to reach.

What’s next for Carmen Tune? Where do you see the website in the next few years?

Looking ahead, the main goal for the next few years is to expand the partner network. I am continuously negotiating with top-tier SaaS companies to bring even better, exclusive offers to my audience. I see the website becoming the absolute default hub for founders and creators—the very first place they visit before making any software purchase decision. Ultimately, I want to keep empowering the community to build cost-effective tech stacks so they can focus their resources on scaling their businesses.

How do users discover the best deals on your site?

The process is designed to be as straightforward and intuitive as possible. Users simply visit the website and search or explore the selection of essential tools, including SEO platforms, AI solutions, or automation software. Once they find the right fit, they can activate the deal by either using the official partner link or applying one of my exclusive promo codes at checkout. The entire goal is to provide a seamless experience where founders can quickly find exactly what they need.

Did you enjoy our interview? Do you have anything to say to our community?

I loved it! It is always fantastic to connect with platforms like SaaSPirate that genuinely care about the SaaS ecosystem. To the community: keep building and protect your budget fiercely. Every dollar you save on your tech stack is a dollar you can invest in your product, your marketing, or your team. Stop overpaying for software, stay focused on efficient growth, and if you ever need a solid deal to get your infrastructure off the ground, you know where to find me!
