Meet Liam
Hi there, I am Liam Snack. I am an IT guy by day and tech enthusiast by night.I have about 10 years of experience in the IT industry and currently manage a small team of help desk technicians as my day job. I’ve spent the past few years diving deeper and deeper into AI and all of its capabilities. It’s something that has such great potential for the future, and it excites me. While AI has a bunch of problems now, I want to be part of shaping it and making it something that does good for everyone in the world.
What inspired you to build Amallo in the first place?
As I found myself diving deeper and deeper into AI, I realized how quickly things move and improve. One week ChatGPT would have a model that had amazing capabilities, and then next Anthropic would release something to top it, and so on and so forth. While subscribing to those individual platforms gave me access to the latest model for that platform, it didn’t give me all the latest models from all the providers. I found other AI aggregators, but none had all of the features I was looking for or released new models nearly quickly enough. So I built the AI platform that I would want to use, with all the models and all the features available as quickly as possible.
Can you describe Amallo in your own words for someone new to AI platforms?
amallo.ai is an all-in-one platform for all things AI. Currently there are four main apps inside of amallo.
There is a chat app that contains the features of platforms like ChatGPT, or Anthropic’s Claude, but rather be limited to one or the other, you get both, and a whole bunch of other models to chat with. In addition to chat, you can also create images and videos from text prompts using models from a plethora of different providers. So rather than subscribing to Gemini to get access to Google Veo 3 and being locked into the Google AI platform, you can subscribe to amallo.ai and get Veo 3 along with models from companies like Bytedance, Alibaba, OpenAI, Stable Diffusion, Black Forest Labs, and more.
Alongside these apps, there is an app that enables you to create speech from text. So you type or paste in whatever text you want, choose a voice, and it will render that text in the voice for you, using the chosen AI model.
How do you ensure the experience of using multiple models feels seamless for the user?
amallo.ai is broken up into the 4 apps, and the model explorer. If you want to chat, generate images, generate videos, or generate speech, just go to that app, and use the prompt box to type in whatever you desire and just hit enter. There are menus on the side with advanced options if you so choose, or if you’d rather keep things simple, you can close them and just use the default settings for all models. All models are right there in the app and can be switched at will. The chat application even allows you to chat with different models side by side for direct comparison of chats.
Do users get to choose which model processes their requests, or does Amallo make intelligent selections?
amallo.ai gives the user 100% choice over what model they want to use for any given task. We have some more intelligent options on our roadmap, but I don’t want to give away too many spoilers. 🙂 We want to ensure that these options provide the best experience possible while also ensuring that we maintain the strictest privacy standards for our customers.
How do you differentiate Amallo from other AI aggregators?
There are a few main ways amallo.ai stands out among its peers:
- We have an industry leading number of models (140+), with new models being added close to release. Since listing with SaasPirate a week ago we’ve already added 15 additional models like Sonnet 4.5 and Sora both within 24 hours of public release. We also offer access to a wide variety of open source models like Meta Llama, Microsoft Phi, and Google Gemma, which are hard to find or non-existent on other platforms.
- We have a commitment to privacy and personal data ownership. Many of the providers we work with like x.AI and OpenAI offer programs where they essentially pay platforms like mine to let them train on their user’s data. We don’t do that, ever. With the rare exceptions of cases where we are completely unable to turn training off for a model, your data is never trained on.We provide a clear privacy policy that states all of the providers we work with and their various privacy standards. We are also 100% US based out of beautiful Charlottesville, VA.
- The credit system amallo uses is particularly easy to use. Many other aggregators charge you for how long your messages are, but every generation of every type in amallo is a standard price and is clearly displayed while you’re using the app so you never spend credits on something you don’t mean to.
What advice would you give to aspiring SaaS founders looking to build in the AI space?
I would say to aspiring SaaS founders that focus is incredibly important in the AI space. Everything is moving incredibly quickly, and everyone wants a piece of the AI pie. There are a lot of people making bold claims. Find the things that you can 1) verify yourself and 2) believe in, and just dig deep on those things. It’s very easy to get sidetracked by thinking you need to add the next new thing and the next one on top of that, but just find a few main key features/niches you want to focus on, and put your blinders on to everything else, I promise you’re not missing out, it’s just FOMO.
What’s one thing you wish you knew before launching Amallo?
I wish I knew how hard it would be to get beta testers so I could’ve started gathering them earlier. I thought throwing free AI at people would be easy, but people don’t want to go out of their way to test new software, especially when they already use something else that is comparable.
How do you manage API key usage and rate limits for so many model providers?
Managing API keys has been pretty manual up until recently, but I’ve actually started to build my own tools into the back-end of the app to help me keep track of those things. They still need a lot of polish, but they help me keep track of how much I’m spending where, and what I need to prioritize. There’s a lot that goes into token tracking, pricing, etc, but building my own tools allows me to gather just the data I need without a bunch of extra noise or costs.
Did you enjoy our interview? Do you have anything to say to our community?
I enjoyed this interview very much and I thank you and SaasPirate for having me. I would encourage people to check out amallo.ai and especially our lifetime plan options. They’re only available for a limited time, and they’re a fantastic deal. Our Plus Lifetime plan currently costs less than 2 years of ChatGPT, but gives you a lifetime of access to all the same models plus Gemini, Claude, Deepseek, xAI and more.
We are a relatively new player on the scene, but we are aiming to be number 1. Get in early and join us on this amazing AI ride for an incredible price and help shape the app you use to access AI.
