Meet Malith
My name is Malith and I am a co-founder of ZapDigits. I have started ZapDigits with my co-founder Mandy, together we created a reporting and dashboarding platform built specifically for marketing agencies.
Prior to launching ZapDigits, I spent over 15 years in the software and agency space, working with several high-growth European startups, including Brevo.
What inspired you to build ZapDigits?
We noticed that while there are plenty of tools for data, most of them are either too heavy or too limited. There is a missing middle. Something lightweight, but still powerful.
That really stood out to me when working with agencies. Client reporting is a core part of the job, but most tools are built for large agencies and don’t fit the way small to mid-sized teams actually work. On top of that, a lot of platforms charge per client or data source, which gets expensive fast as you grow.
ZapDigits came from that gap. We wanted to build something that makes reporting simple, scalable, and affordable, without cutting back on what you can actually do.
What makes ZapDigits different from other dashboard/reporting tools?
ZapDigits is a small, independent company based in the EU. We care about our customers and build our platform based on their needs.
We keep improving the product to make it easier to use and more useful every day. We also take your privacy seriously and support your growth.
We don’t charge per client. As your agency grows, your bill stays the same.
Who is your ideal customer: small agencies, large agencies, or freelancers?
Small to Mid size agencies.
Can you walk us through how ZapDigits works from setup to reporting?
It’s very easy to get started with ZapDigits. You can connect to around 30 native data sources in just a few clicks. Once connected, you can import your metrics directly into custom dashboards.
You can fully white-label these dashboards and use them for client reporting. ZapDigits also includes built-in task management and media management features that agencies rely on.
If you prefer a hands-off approach, our managed plan takes care of everything for you. We migrate your clients to the platform, set up dashboards, and build automations, so you don’t have to spend time on reporting.
What role will AI play in reporting and analytics?
We are very selective about how we use AI. We don’t feed agencies data into AI models because we know how much privacy matters to our clients. Being based in the EU, protecting that information is just part of who we are.
Instead of adding trendy features just to keep up, we spend our energy solving the hard stuff. We make sure your connections stay stable and your data stays accurate.
What are the biggest mistakes agencies make with reporting today?
A report filled with meaningless metrics is just another ignored email. Too often, these reports are generic and ignore the client’s actual business goals. If a dashboard doesn’t answer the question, “What should we do next?” it isn’t doing its job.
Sending a link to a dashboard without any context is another missed opportunity. Data doesn’t speak for itself; it needs a person to explain what the numbers mean and how they help the client win.
What advice would you give to founders building SaaS products?
Building a SaaS company is not an overnight success story. Finding customers is harder than ever, and reaching product-market fit is a journey that never truly ends.
Make sure you build something you actually care about. If you don’t, you will lose your motivation long before you see results.
Where do you see ZapDigits in the next 3-5 years?
We want to stay true to our values and be the tool that truly cares about data and privacy. Alongside this, we aim to become the go-to reporting tool for marketing agencies by offering a wide range of native integrations.
Our focus is on giving agencies a platform they can trust, where the data is secure and the connections always work.
Did you enjoy our interview? Do you have anything to say to our community?
Thank you for the interview. It was great to share our story! If you are an agency owner or building in the data industry, I would love to connect.
