Without any further delay, let’s hear what he has to say!

Hi Blaine, please introduce yourself to our audience and tell us a bit about your industry experience?

Hello, I’m Blaine Bertsch, Co-Founder and CEO at Dryrun and I’ve been involved in the financial technology sector for several years. I started and ran a creative agency for nearly 15 years before taking on the problem of financial visibility among business owners. We have been hard at work serving our customers and evolving the software for the past number of years.

Can you describe what Dryrun is and the primary problem it aims to solve for businesses?

Dryrun is a financial software designed to help business management teams understand and discuss their finances. It covers everything from cash flow forecasting and management to scenario modelling and financial analysis.

Our goal is to make understanding business finances painless and highly efficient so that finance pros and management teams can spend their valuable time moving the business forward rather than building and explaining spreadsheets.

What makes Dryrun stand out from other cash flow management tools available in the market?

Dryrun stands out due to its emphasis on flexibility and user-centric design, paired with sophisticated automation and control that financial professionals need to deliver clear financial insights. The software scales well to include larger businesses that often have multiple departments, locations, and currencies. Dryrun offers a simple, intuitive interface that allows users to easily model different financial scenarios and instantly see the impact of potential decisions on business finances.

Can you discuss the automation features within Dryrun and how they save time or improve accuracy for your users?

Dryrun incorporates several automation features, such as data import from accounting platforms, real-time updates, and predictive analytics that anticipate future cash flow trends based on historical data. These features save time by eliminating manual data entry and improve accuracy by reducing human error.

Of course, with the proliferation of artificial intelligence, Dryrun will continue to evolve, offering more speed, flexibility, and insights in the coming months.

What are the biggest challenges facing the financial software industry today, and how is Dryrun addressing them?

One of the biggest challenges is also one of the greatest opportunities. Harnessing artificial intelligence to enhance our user experience, drive efficiency, and offer sophisticated insights has to be accomplished with care, planning, and safeguards to ensure that we put our customers first.

What trends in the finance industry have you noticed recently?

There continues to be a significant shift towards cloud-based solutions, increased demand for mobile access to financial tools, and a greater emphasis on real-time data analytics. These trends reflect the growing need for accessibility, flexibility, and immediacy in financial management.

What are the biggest opportunities you see for growth in the financial software market in the next few years?

The biggest opportunities lie in further integrating artificial intelligence to provide predictive insights, expanding into emerging markets where businesses are just beginning to adopt modern financial tools, and developing industry-specific solutions that address the unique challenges of different sectors.

How does the current economic situation affect businesses’ needs for cash flow management & forecasting tools like Dryrun?

In the current economic climate, businesses face more uncertainty and financial volatility than they likely have in the past 15 years. Although the slowdown in many sectors and shutdowns during the pandemic was incredibly difficult for many businesses, the challenge is greater today for many. The build-up of debt, tied with inflation and a sagging market, means many businesses are facing greater issues today than they were just a couple of years ago.

Tools like Dryrun are essential for managing cash flow effectively, forecasting potential issues, and planning strategically to navigate economic downturns or capitalize on upcoming opportunities.

What advice would you give to entrepreneurs who are involved in the finance sector?

Focus on truly understanding the specific challenges and needs of your target customers. Build solutions that not only solve these problems but also provide additional value through usability, scalability, and adaptability.

Did you enjoy our interview? Do you have anything to say to our community?
